SurvTech Solutions is partnering with BIMPRINTER to bring an innovative robotic layout solution to projects throughout the United States.
As warehouses, advanced manufacturing facilities, and other large-scale construction projects continue to grow in size and complexity, transferring digital design information accurately and efficiently into the field has become increasingly important.
Working in conjunction with robotic total stations, the BIM printing system can print points, lines, curves, text, dimensions, equipment locations, anchor locations, wall lines, and other construction information directly onto concrete and other surfaces. Instead of crews continually interpreting drawings and manually transferring hundreds or thousands of individual layout points, BIMPRINTER and SurvTech can establish highly visible markings representing the planned locations of critical construction elements. By taking information from digital construction plans and transforming it into full-scale layout markings directly on the construction surface.
Built for Large and Complex Facilities
This type of technology is particularly useful on projects where layouts are large, repetitive, or highly detailed including:
Centers and mission-critical facilities
Equipment and rack layouts
Anchor and penetration locations
Interior wall and partition layouts
MEP and equipment reference locations

Multiple BIMPRINTER robots can also operate simultaneously, making the technology particularly valuable on large floor plates where schedule and production rates are critical.
The result is a direct connection between the digital model and physical construction environment helping contractors reduce manual layout effort, maintain consistency across large areas, and provide installation crews with clear visual information directly on the work surface.
BIMPRINTER Technology Meets SurvTech Field Expertise
The partnership combines BIMPRINTER's robotic layout technology with SurvTech's surveying, geospatial, construction-layout, and field experience in the United States.
SurvTech can support the field execution required to successfully deploy the technology on U.S. projects, including establishing and verifying survey control, coordinating site reference systems, operating robotic total stations, preparing and validating layout information, performing quality-control checks, and supporting BIMPRINTER operations in the field.
That field expertise is an important part of the process. Robotic printing is only as accurate as the coordinate framework and digital information behind it. By bringing together survey control, BIM/CAD data, robotic total stations, and automated printing, the team can create a more connected workflow from the digital model to the construction site.
Collaboration Across the U.S.
The partnership has already been put into practice. On a recent project in Pennsylvania, SurvTech crews worked alongside BIMPRINTER to support robotic layout operations.
SurvTech has also deployed the technology on a project in Jacksonville, Florida, demonstrating how the partnership can support multiple projects and demanding construction environments across the country.
The SurvTech and BIMPRINTER partnership brings together surveying, BIM, robotics, and automated construction layout to help address challenges of the future.
The goal isn't simply to deliver another digital file. It's about making that information useful in the field and putting it directly into the hands of the people building the project.
