7th Annual Energy Drone & Robotics Summit Review

SurvTech Solutions recently had the pleasure of exhibiting at the 7th Annual Energy Drone & Robotics Summit, held at the Woodlands Marriott in Houston each year. We chose to booth at this particular event this year due to the increased work we foresee in the future, specifically in the Power Transmission and Gas/Oil sectors. As technology advances, many leading energy providers are beginning to understand the benefits of drone and robotic implementations in both safety and cost-saving aspects. A variety of attendees at the summit were of particular interest for us to network with and potentially foster a relationship with, including Chevron, Shell, Conoco – Phillips, Exxon Mobile, and Energy Transfer. While it was a much smaller venue than some of the larger conferences that we attend regularly, it had a more personal feel to it, which I have found to be great for networking and getting some quality returns out of the efforts that are put into exhibiting/attending networking events such as this.

Even though there were some other service providers there, many that were in attendance were from other markets, which opened the possibilities of teaming opportunities in the future. Many other providers in attendance focused on the inspection side of things. In contrast, here at SurvTech, we have gotten the mapping aspect down to a science. We actually ran into a group we had previously teamed with on a proof-of-concept demo a few years back, so it was great to see them and reconnect!

SurvTech Solutions attends a Huston Astros home game!

All in all, it was a great experience. We enjoyed meeting everyone out there and look forward to building upon the new relationships formed over the week. We were even fortunate enough to have gotten drawn in a raffle to attend a Houston Astros game the last evening we were there! Special thanks to Russell White at Dimensional Geomatics for the tickets!
