It's not every day that you come across someone who has dedicated nearly two decades of their life to a single company. Tim, Vice President of Operations for Mulberry/Polk County, and one of the Professional Surveyors & Mappers at SurvTech Solutions, recently marked a remarkable milestone – his 18th year with the company. To commemorate this occasion, we sat down with Tim to learn more about his journey, experiences, and what keeps him motivated. Here's an exclusive Q&A with Tim:

Q: How long have you been a member of SurvTech Solutions?

A: I started at SurvTech in 2005. I just completed my 18th year with the company.

Q: What is your current occupation?

A: I am the VP of Operations for Mulberry/Polk County. I am one of the Professional Surveyors & Mappers we have on staff. I obtained my surveying license in 2012.

Q: What is your favorite part of the job?

A: I enjoy the complexity of the job. I like using all the tools we have available, using my knowledge and the knowledge/experience of my coworkers to solve survey issues. Then, being able to translate that complexity into a survey that the client can understand and benefit from. Every survey is like putting together a puzzle.

Q: Why did you join SurvTech?

A: I joined SurvTech because of the connection I felt during the interview process. I was fresh out of college and looking to find a job that involved math, GIS, and cartography. My interests matched with SurvTech's ad post on the Monster site. The rest is history.

Q: What's your favorite part of being a member of SurvTech?

A: The camaraderie. It's more than just a place to work.

Q: What organizations are you a part of?

A:The National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).

Q: How do you define success?

A: Success is when I can make someone else's life, or my own, a little easier or happier. If I can improve someone's day, even by the simplest gesture, that's a success.

Q: Who inspires you?

A: My wife and kids.

Q: What's one thing — either industry-related or not — you learned in the last month?

A: We have an air pocket in our stomachs; I never thought about it before.

Q: What's something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?

A: When I was a kid, I used to participate in miniature golf tournaments. I have bowled multiple perfect 300 games and received a scholarship for bowling.

Q: Where were you born?

A: I was born and raised in Michigan.

Q: What's the last book you read?

A: The last book I read was an Encanto-related book for my kids. The last book I read for myself was "The Summer House" by James Patterson.

Q: What is your favorite hobby?

A: I enjoy golfing and the occasional video game.

Q: What's the next place on your travel bucket list?

A: I would like to visit the island of Hawaii and return to Alaska.

Q: If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A: I would be completely okay eating pizza for the rest of my life. Can't go wrong with that.
